Elephant - Dimitris Mytas

The “Elephant” project by Dimitris Mytas reflects on his personal interpretation of the 'empty nest' syndrome, inspired by his son leaving home to pursue his studies. The elephant in the living room serves as a metaphor for the emptiness this absence brought into his life. In loneliness and grief, Mytas turned to his photographic archive, rediscovering his growth as both a father and a photographer. The series concludes with an image of his son walking away through a snowy landscape, symbolizing his newfound freedom to explore life and offering a redemptive message within the work.
